Ziva Branstetter
2026 Honoree
Ziva Branstetter, CEO of Tulsa Flyer and a veteran investigative journalist, is the inaugural Truthstorian Award honoree. She has spent decades reporting on crime, politics and government accountability. With 20 years at Tulsa World, she covered the Oklahoma City bombing and the botched execution of Clayton Lockett. Her reporting on Lockett’s execution was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize in Local Reporting.
In 2025, her ‘Life of the Mother’ ProPublica series won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Documenting the deaths of 5 women in Texas and Georgia who were denied care under state abortion bans, she exposed the real-world consequences of political interference in medical care.
