Host an “Open House, Open Minds” Conversation

What Is Open House, Open Minds?

Open House, Open Minds is our signature educational series. Expect a friendly, judgment-free conversation about reproductive health care and abortion in Oklahoma, hosted in someone’s home, business, church, or organization. It’s kind of like a book club - a chance to slow down, listen, reflect, and connect more deeply with others, even if they see things differently. These conversations are welcoming to people across the political spectrum.

During the conversation, you can expect a respectful, facilitated dialogue that centers on personal stories, values, and lived experiences related to reproductive health care. It's not a debate, but rather a chance to listen, reflect, and connect with others in a thoughtful, judgment-free space. We are not here to change minds, our hope is that participants will move from judgment to empathy.

How Does It Work?

The host (you!) provides the space and guest list, we do the heavy lifting. We provide the group facilitation, printed materials, pens, video, and everything necessary for a successful, respectful session.

Sessions typically involve 6-10 participants and last approximately 90 minutes. They are interactive, with guests encouraged to share, but not required to.

What’s the Difference Between Host vs. Facilitator?

The host is someone who invites friends, family, or community members into their home or space for the conversation. They create a welcoming environment and there is no training required.

The facilitator is a trained volunteer or repro46 staff member who provides all necessary materials, guides the discussion, ensures everyone feels heard, and helps keep the conversation respectful and focused.
